BDEC2 "Platforms for the Digital Continuum" Workshop in Kobe

Friday, March 15, 2019

The most recent workshop in the BDEC2 series was held in Kobe, Japan at RIKEN Center for Computational Science from 19 to 21 February 2019. This first workshop of this year, which addressed the topic “Platforms for the Digital Continuum”, gathered more than 70 participants – the EU HPC ecosystem was represented thanks to the EXDCI-2 project.

Over the past years, the Big Data and Extreme-scale Computing (BDEC) project has organized a series of international workshops that aimed to explore the ways in which new forms of data-centric discovery introduced by this revolution might be integrated with the established, simulation-centric paradigm of the high performance computing (HPC) community.

Some highlights of this edition include:

The next BDEC workshop will be organised by the EXDCI-2 project and will be held in Poznań, Poland during the EuroHPC Summit Week 2019.
