The 2020 edition of the EuroScience Open Forum, originally planned to take place from 5 to 9 July but postponed as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, will be rescheduled to take place from 2 to 6 September in Trieste, Italy.
As announced by EuroScience and the Fondazione Internazionale Trieste, the rescheduling will be accompanied by an update and revision of the ESOF programme. Digital tools, such as teleconferencing for session delivery, will be made available, and session content related to issues concerning public health and the environment, currently at the heart of scientific, political and public debate worldwide, will be amplified.
What is ESOF
The EuroScience Open Forum is the largest pan-European event focusing on debate at the interface of science, technology, society and politics. Created in 2004 by the non-profit association EuroScience, the biennial forum provides a unique opportunity for interaction and discussion among scientists, innovators, politicians, entrepreneurs, communicators and citizens. Trieste has been nominated European City of Science 2020 and will host the ninth edition of ESOF.
