FETHPC Results

In 2014, the European Commission funded 19 projects developing HPC technologies. These projects (called 'FET HPC 2014 projects') have produced a wealth of diverse results which constitute an important asset for the European HPC ecosystem. The EXDCI-2 project has compiled these outputs and organised them into the searchable database below. In case you search for a particular project, feel free to add the search function on the top right of this website. We hope it will allow these results to be reused, leading to synergies and collaborations between European (and overseas) players.

If you are interested in any of the results, please contact us indicating the output you are interested in and your motivation.

FPGA infrastructure to run OpenCL kernels on Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ FPGAs. Provide a static system (FPGA configuration) that can host one or more partially reconfigurable modules. We provide hardware and middleware to reconfigure the FPGA and to run OpenCL kernels. We also provide compile scripts for rapid (reconfigurable) module implementation directly from high level OpenCL specifications.

FPGA based hardware tailored to HPC systems able to accelerate real world applications at ultra low power consumption. UNIMEN allows hardware accelerators to directly access remote memory (e.g., using RDMA) and UNILOGIC allows remote execution (e.g. for work-steeling). A runtime system can reconfigure the FPGA with the modules needed and this allows us to move FPGA accelerators to the nodes that contain data to process
